Undefeated (2011)

“You think that football builds character, which it does not. Football reveals character.”

Sunday Single Sentence review:

Last year’s Oscar-winner for Best Documentary Feature, Undefeated, is an emotional, well constructed, sports documentary about the players and volunteer coach of a struggling inner-city high school football team in Memphis, Tennessee, but while it does capture a compelling portrait of the lives it chronicles, I couldn’t help but feel I had heard most of this story before.
