My Dinner with Andre

My Dinner with Andre (1981)

” I told him I had to get up early the next morning ’cause it was so horrible.”

Sunday Single Sentence review:

Less a film than a conversation, and less a conversation than a monologue, My Dinner with Andre, deserves credit for its bold simplicity, but, unfortunately, it wastes that credit by subjecting the viewer to one of the most annoyingly pretentious dolts in cinema history, Andre Gregory (Andre Gregory), who prattles on about his fantastically unlikely adventures, and cheap pseudo-philosophical musings for two hours that come to feel like two days.
